The Mercurial Vapor IX is engineered with a completely new upper to deliver a level of support and touch for players to deliver a deadly combination of speed and skill when it matters most.
Speed Control texture on the upper gives players the confidence to perform at speed with enhanced friction. When this technology combines with acc technology it creates an identical amount of friction for the boot in both dry or wet conditions, reducing the effect of poor weather on player ball control.
The new lightweight Vapor shaves off another 2 grams and now tips the scales at mere 214g. But Nike continue to create a boot which is the right weight not too lightweight.
The Vapor design exudes comfort throughout by forming the best possible fit. The interior is no different, where a lightweight perforated sockliner with textile cloth mirrors the natural foot shape and creates low profile cushioning.
As a result of Nike's superior engineering this boot has a super lightweight and durable soleplate. Consisting of two layers of glass fiber fused together for a flexible forefoot, this design grants excellent energy return during push off from the ground.
Completing the boot is a firm ground stud design, a masterpiece in its self. Longer twin heel studs optimum penetration and stability while shorter forefoot studs provide traction for range high speed actions. A central stud at one of the last points of contact with the ground prevent the boot from slipping, critical during high speed sprinting. Small toe-off traction at the tip of the forefoot make instant bursts of speed easier.
